Ice Cave Iceland - an amazing winter experience in Vatnajökull National park in the southern Iceland
Explore a breath-taking crystal ice cave on Europe’s biggest Glacier Vatnajökull.
Imagine standing inside a glacier, enjoying the many different, and naturally created nuances of blue ice. This truly is a must-see ice cave for anyone who visits Iceland in the winter.
A visit to this ice cave is a once in a lifetime experience in Iceland. The natural lights that seep through the dense ice gives the cave a very unique and adventurous atmosphere. This also gives great opportunities to take stunning pictures.
The tour starts at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where we will pick you up and drive to the edge of the Glacier. Here you will get all the safety instructions and equipment. After a 20-30-minute hike, you will arrive at the magnificent crystal ice cave. You will have 30-45 minutes to explore and enjoy the cave in your own pace.
Ice caves are a remarkable natural experience, but it's important to be aware that they are constantly changing. The structure, colors, and shapes of the ice are naturally influenced by weather, temperature, and season, which means that no cave remains the same from year to year – or even from week to week.
The pictures on our website show previous versions of the ice caves and provide a good impression of what you can experience. However, we cannot guarantee that the cave will look exactly as it does in the pictures on the day you visit. Nature creates these ice caves, and we can only show them as they are at that particular moment.
We hope you will enjoy this unique experience and be fascinated by the ice's eternal change! If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us.
